ABOUT TRISTEN DUHON

A native of Houston, Texas, Tristen brings a deep commitment to justice and client advocacy to the firm. After earning her undergraduate degree from the University of Mississippi, she went on to receive her Juris Doctor from Stetson University College of Law, where she gained hands-on legal experience that shaped her passion for criminal defense.

During law school, Tristen clerked for a judge and served in the United States Attorney’s Office, gaining valuable insight into both the judicial and prosecutorial sides of the legal system. After graduation, she began her career at the Public Defender’s Office, where she represented hundreds of clients and handled a wide range of cases — from serious felonies and over 100 DUI cases to juvenile-specific charges and everything in between.

That experience shaped her approach to the law: client-centered, strategic, and relentless in defense of individual rights. Tristen takes the time to listen, understand each client’s story, and build a strong defense tailored to their circumstances and future.

She brings that same dedication to every case she handles today, combining a deep understanding of the law with a fierce commitment to protecting her clients. Whether in negotiations or the courtroom, Tristen fights to achieve the best possible outcome in every case.

Whether you’re facing a misdemeanor or a serious felony, she’s here to stand by you and fight for you.

WE WILL FIGHT TO PROTECT YOUR LEGAL RIGHTS.

Mitchell Criminal Law is a Tampa-based firm focused exclusively on criminal defense. Led by attorney Alison Mitchell, a former state prosecutor, and attorney Tristen Duhon, a former public defender, our team offers a powerful combination of perspectives and experience within Florida’s criminal justice system.

Alison and Tristen developed their trial skills in the trenches—Alison prosecuting cases for the State Attorney’s Office, and Tristen defending clients at the Public Defender’s Office. Their time in the courtroom sharpened their ability to handle a wide range of criminal matters and gave them a deep understanding of how the system works from both sides.

At Mitchell Criminal Law, we don’t just navigate the system—we fight to protect your rights every step of the way.
