Criminal Defense Across Tampa Bay and West Central Florida

Court resources and practical preparation for Hillsborough, Pinellas, Pasco, Polk, and Manatee Counties.

The right information for the right county

Mitchell Criminal Law’s office is in Tampa. The firm serves Hillsborough, Pinellas, Pasco, Polk, and Manatee Counties; this guide does not imply an office in each county. Begin with the court named on your paperwork. County boundaries, divisions, and hearing locations matter, particularly when more than one case is pending.

Tampa and Hillsborough County

Hillsborough is in the Thirteenth Judicial Circuit. Our Tampa and Hillsborough guide explains preparation for a consultation and court attendance. Use the official circuit website ↗ for current court information, and confirm your assigned division and hearing instructions with counsel.

Pinellas County: confirm the particular courthouse

Pinellas is part of the Sixth Judicial Circuit. The circuit’s directory lists several courthouse locations, including the Pinellas County Justice Center and buildings in Clearwater and St. Petersburg. Do not use a city name alone to choose where to appear. Compare your notice with the official courthouse and services directory ↗, then confirm any uncertainty with counsel.

Pasco County: check east and west locations

Pasco also belongs to the Sixth Judicial Circuit. Its directory distinguishes the Robert D. Sumner Judicial Center and West Pasco Judicial Center. Read the full hearing location on your notice before arranging transportation. The Sixth Circuit directory ↗ provides court-service contacts, including accessibility assistance. Do not assume Pinellas instructions apply to a Pasco case simply because they share a circuit.

Polk County: use the correct proceeding and division

Polk is served by the Tenth Judicial Circuit. Its official virtual-courtroom page ↗ organizes resources by proceeding, including felony, misdemeanor, first appearance, and juvenile matters. A link appearing on that page does not authorize remote attendance in your case; follow your hearing notice and counsel’s instructions. Keep the case number and assigned division available when confirming details.

Manatee County: distinguish the type of case

Manatee is in the Twelfth Judicial Circuit. Its court structure separates criminal, family, juvenile, and other divisions. Related family or protective matters can require different notices and preparation from a criminal case. Use the Twelfth Circuit’s official court information ↗ as a starting point, then verify the assigned division and current hearing details.

When more than one county is involved

Give counsel a list of every pending case, the issuing court, upcoming dates, and release or probation conditions. A change in one case should not be assumed to change another court’s order. Questions about warrants, release conditions, or probation need a complete view of the situation.

Prepare before contacting the firm

Gather the charging papers, hearing notices, and a short timeline. Call 813.229.5343 and identify the county and any approaching date. The firm can discuss the matter and proposed representation. Court schedules and instructions can change; the current notice and court orders control, and this guide does not replace advice about your individual case.
